It Doesn't Matter
Despite all the back and forth about Project 2025 and whether Trump is involved... the truth is, it doesn't matter if he is or not
We’ve all heard the many, many, many debunkings of Trump’s attempts to distance himself from Project 2025. You know the whole list as well as I do, so I won’t belabor them here.
But the point I would like to make is simple: it doesn’t matter one bit.
It doesn’t matter if he knows all about it, or he knows nothing.
Let’s imagine, just for the moment that he’s telling the truth (yes, yes, I know, that’s simply not possible for Trump) but let’s play pretend.
Do you, for one instant, imagine that if the GOP takes the House and the Senate, and they pass something straight out of Project 2025, that Trump would ever veto such a thing if it crossed his desk?
Do you really believe, that when all his advisors are telling him to write up some executive directive to enact some portion of Project 2025, that he will refuse?
Why would he ever do that?
Project 2025 is the Republican Wish List, and it has been since at least Ronnie Rayguns. Thye’ve been working on this plan for decades, and Trump is exactly like they are, with all the same ideas and prejudices; he’s not going to balk at finally enacting what they’ve drooling over all this time.
In fact, we have ample evidence in reality that Trump will do exactly the things listed in Project 2025. He’s already tried to do at least one of them and that one being among the many that are most egregious.
Just before he left office in 2020, he passed his revision of Schedule F Federal Employees. A law that would have allowed him to fire anyone, in any federal job, for any reason, and replace that person with a Trump sycophant. He could replace talented and knowledgeable bureaucrats with his own, suck-up yes men to do his bidding, legal or illegal.
Rewriting Schedule F is one of the many terrible things you find in Project 2025. So we know Trump approves of at least that part of it.
The rest of it mostly aligns with things he’s proposed as well. You only need to compare Trump’s “Agenda 47” (his statement of policies you can find on his campaign site) with Project 2025. Although they are not the same, the only differences are that Trump’s “Agenda 47” includes some really stupid shit like “flying cars”. All the same dictatorship and fascism resides in both “agendas”.
So, don’t buy the fake controversy over his knowledge about it. That’s just another distraction from what’s really in it and what he (and it) will do to this country.
And Trump adopted most of the 2016 version. He was proud of that at the time.
Exactly right. Agenda 47 is the “official” version, Project 2025 is the “unofficial” version of Trump’s plans.
